We are lucky, Southern Maryland has so many Christmas activities for the whole family.
Many of my family’s best traditions have occurred over time, naturally, with really little intention. My favorite family tradition is our yearly visit to Flat Iron Farm for their annual Christmas Light Display and Christmas town. It is this really amazing service to the local community, they don’t charge an entrance fee, which allows anyone to show up and enjoy the lights and animal petting zoo.
My family and I have been visiting Flat Iron Farm since my son, Riley, was born. Right now he is 6 and enjoys it just as much as when he was 2 years old. There are a variety of Christmas shops where you can purchase, gifts, candy and locally made food items. There is an entire building dedicated and adored with items from the past, complete with of vintage toys and memorabilia. This year, there was a new vendor, which allowed you to create a mold of your hand by dipping it in warm wax and as you can see, Riley really enjoyed it.
