Looking Back at 2018
I’m sharing my top 5 photo sessions for 2018!
Wow! How quickly did 2018 pass for you?! It seems like it was gone in a blink of an eye, at least for me. This year was a special one in so many ways for both my business and for my family. As a family, we added a new baby to the family (who is now 1 year old), my step-daughter moved in with us full time AND we bought our first house. Whew, it was a lot!
The business this past year took on a life of its own, I learned a lot and felt like I could barely keep my head above water at times. It was a challenge. Out of a good challenge always brings a good lesson though and I wouldn’t trade that going into year 3 of business.
As I reflect on everything that I have done this year, as tiring as it was, it was all a blessing. And today I want to share with you my top 5 photo shoots from 2018 because most of them I haven’t even gotten around to sharing because I have been so busy!
1) Jenna & Collin
Believe it or not, it was FREEZING the day we shot these images. This was a particularly chilly fall day and while I was all bundled up in lots of layers, these two were troopers in their cute (but not warm) matching outfits! Jenna and Colin hired me for their wedding, and all of my wedding package comes with an engagement session which was a fun opportunity to get to know these Packers fans before their big day!
2) Priscilla & Tim
I really enjoyed working with Priscilla and Tim because they were super adventurous! For their engagement session, we went to a local park and went on a hike – seriously! Priscilla was such a trooper in her dress and Tim was there to help her out along the way. They were the cutest couple and I’m super excited about working with them again later this year for their wedding day.
3) Morigan’s Maternity Session
Morigan came to me to do her maternity session, being that she is one of my lovely models, I was more than glad to do it! Morigan and I have worked together many times and I always love getting her in front of the camera! She is just so photogenic! She HIKED over a mile with me while 34 weeks pregnant so we could get these amazing photos!
4) Bryanna and Megan
By far one of my most favorite sessions of 2018, was of these two lovebirds, Bryanna and Megan. The two were expecting their first child in the later part of the year and reached out to me to document their pregnancy. When these two are together, it is super easy to tell how in loved they are, their smiles and laughs are also super contagious.
5) Declan’s 1st Birthday
Now, I admit, I am DEFINITELY bias here but my son’s 1st birthday cake smash had to be included! Not only was it my little guys’s 1st birthday but it was also the first time that I got to do a cake smash in my new little studio! It was so much fun and SO messy! I learned a lot about the process so I’m way more prepared on how best to clean it all up in the future.
This year was full of ALL kinds of photo sessions. I’ve learned that I LOVE sunset engagement session and doing cake smashes! I’m hoping I’ll get to do more of these during the new year. Of these top 5, which one is your favorite?!
