Because Stephanie reached out to me all the way from California regarding shooting her upcoming elopement to her then fiance, Yemi. When I received my an inquiry from Stephanie, let’s just say I was surprised. When I started working with Stephanie, she was looking for a place in Washington D.C. to hold her elopement but wasn’t quite sure to began. That is where I came in to help!
Stephanie had a just a few criteria for her elopement which made it super easy to find a location for her. On top of that, Washington D.C. is very diverse, with tons of culture and loaded with gorgeous places to shoot . Stephanie wanted a location that was classic that had ‘old’ details, think older architecture, heavier lines, and rich color. Originally we had planned shooting in downtown Georgetown along the canal but after doing some researching, we found that the canal was closed and under construction for the foreseeable future.
Our second location was to shoot along the National Mall (very classic) because who doesn’t want to shoot when the cherry blossoms are in bloom? However, the weather was not working in our favor as the big date approached, so we very enthusiastically settled with the Library of Congress. It is a beautiful indoor location with high ceilings and tons of vivid color. Depending on the time of day, the crowd can be a little thick but that didn’t stop us from getting some personal images.
If you are located in the Washington D.C. or Southern Maryland area and planning an elopement, justice of the peace or classic wedding for 2018, please feel free to reach out to me. I have several dates available and travel within a 150 mile radius. I am positive, working together, we can create gorgeous images and lasting memories.
